Revd. John Rackley (2nd right) has been Minister at the Church since 1991. He is married to Mary and has a son and daughter. John believes that he offers a nurturing, pastoral ministry to the Church. He believes a church needs to be as helpful to newcomers and non-Christians as to those who know it well and have made a Christian commitment. He has a faith that lives by the questions God raises for us in the life of Jesus. He broadcasts regularly on Pause for Thought for Radio 2, is a retreat leader and member of the Iona Community.

John is very keen that the church offer opportunities for people to share their faith together and help their trust in God.

He is also Chaplain at Bath University. John says:

"I have been a Chaplain in both Leicester and Bath and I have a similar role to that of an "unattached" youth worker. A chaplain seeks to be available for the needs of students who come to either of our universities in Bath. I am based at the Caplaincy Centre. One of the team is always available at the Centre and between us we cover Anglican, Baptist, Orthodox, Methodist, Roman Catholic, United Reformed and Quaker denominations.

We join in University life whether it is the Student Union Firework Party; Graduation Ceremonies or enjoying a swim in the Sports Pool. As a local minister I wish my own church to be a congregation where individual students feel they are welcome and are encountering God in the way they need Him to meet them."
