John Rackley Articles and Blog

BAPTISTS EXPLORING ISSUES
OF HOMOSEXUALITY

is an educational process prepared for churches that wish to think biblically and theologically about
homosexuality. I am one of those trained to use the
material with churches in our region. I need to work through the material with a group of us so I can become familiar with it. Thank you to those who have volunteered to meet with me and Domini Barry for hosting them.

*I am looking forward to joining both House Groups to lead some of their meetings on the theme of their studies which are looking at the meaning of the Cross today. I am supplementing that theme with a series of services starting this month as our preparation for Easter. (see page 8)

*I am pleased that the Café at the Centre are having Lent Lunches this year and I or Dave Twine are leading a sequence of Lent meditations on 'The Gethsemane Experience' each Tuesday in the sanctuary from 23 February 1.00-1.20pm until Easter. You'll also be able to see them on my blog (go to our church website for this). This will be a suitable introduction to the Gethsemane Garments exhibition and meeting their designer, Peter Privett in March.

*Students Together was re-launched well. We now meet either in the
Café at the Centre or the homes of members and congregation. One the themes we are considering is : The Sayings of Jesus:
impossible, daft or wise - you decide!
We're also off to a pub quiz. I'll let you know what occurs!. John
