Sunday Evenings at
Manvers Street Baptist Church during the Autumn

Why should I bother with church on a Sunday evening?
Many people ask this question and decide they have better things to do?
CHURCH in the CENTRE 6.30pm each Sunday offers an alternative programme.

Autumn programme

What happens on Sunday evenings at
Manvers Street Baptist Church Bath?

This season we will be continuing some of our usual features like the Healing Space and Friends in the City. Harvest of Compassion will feature Children'sHospice, South West
and Children in Distress. We can also looking forward to the return of
Adam's Apple Jazz group.
Unless otherwise stated all the events will be in the Coffee Shop. The Gospel in Film is an occasional series in which John will use film to reflect on what we believe and how we can learn about faith in contemporary films.

.Each occasion is based in the Coffee Shop and starts with refreshments.

friends in the city…

A chance to meet people from the city and beyond who are sharing their faith and trust in God in different ways.

a healing space…

A time when we gather to pray for people, places and the planet. We offer each other laying on of hands and we pray by name for those who ask for this way of receiving the care of God and his people

the Lord's supper…

We enjoy together the original act of Christian worship in an informal way with prayer and conversation together.

PRAYER WALK FOR A CHANGING CITY

In recent years on the evening of the first Sunday of September,
Manvers Street Baptist Church has gathered to pray for our city.
This year, as in other years, we are using the time to share a pilgrimage in the streets of the city centre. This year there will be a prayer walk of intercession in the vicinity of the
Southgate Re-development, starting at the Open House
Coffee Shop. We will walk around the circumference of the Project area stopping at various points to pray.
Subjects for prayer will include:

The building work
Changes to transport provision
New businesses
New residential accommodation
Tourism in Bath
Street Pastors and Night Life

The prayer will be led by John Rackley and Dave Twine, Minister and Outreach Worker
of the church.

Please join us for the occasion, pray with us at that time and, where possible, let others know about the event.

Revd. John Rackley, the Minister says :-

"Back to Church Sunday is a simple idea which could make a significant difference to many people. On 28 September churches will look forward to meeting people who have decided to give Church another chance. Manvers Street Baptist Church is one of them. We believe being part of a church gives a place to belong and an expereince of God in Life. We are pleased to be part of this national campaign."
